I'm not sure I would count this as an issue, per se. :p But as an American, I do put up with the griping often enough for it to be a nuisance. [rant] Yes, we all know that gas prices are absurdly high.

Economy + Environment, not that I don't care about other matters (rejecting the notion of a gender binary, I am also a proponent of GBLTQ rights). I'm of the opinion that we need to get all of our ducks in a row and become functional again before other issues (and "issues") are tackled. An investment in the environment as a nation would not only provide the obvious benefits, but would also create more jobs. Researching alternative energy sources would also decrease our dependency upon foreign oil, so our foreign policy needn't be as motivated by our deficit-ridden checkbooks. Obviously, nothing is ever this simple, but at first blush this seems like an approach that is workable in the context of a larger, more comprehensive plan.
