Hey, I just wanted to point out that some of the realistic missions are rather opinionated. One seems to even be rather anti-American. Any way you could consider toning it down a little?

These simulated sites are just an example of some REAL sites out there. There are actually some anti-American sites, maybe a lot of them... And this is basically...I don't know, you could consider it as a way to deal with real anti-American sites? (Nah, that's too mean...) However, they don't mean anything.

HackThisSite cares about everyone's opinion here. The "Comments & Suggestions" forum wouldn't exist otherwise. That said, caring about your opinions/suggestions and agreeing to do them are two different things.

The main problem I have is with the Peace Poetry mission where the "evil, bad hackers" support George Bush and America. How is that supposed to make people who support George Bush and America feel?

Without getting into the politics of it.. Hacking is considered a liberal discipline.. You can't be a hacker and support suppression of information, It makes you a hypocrite. The missions are aimed at depicting extreme right-wing organizations. The content won't be changed.

I would have to agree. The 'evil, bad hackers' are suppressing the girl's right to freedom of speech. They are suppressing her views and the information she is providing, factual or not. Being an ethical hacker (most of the missions are "good" in that, you aren't trying to harm innocent people, but stop the suppression of information), it is your desire to assist the people that are being attacked by 'bad guys'. This is how I interpret it at least.

Now regarding Peace Poetry specifically, if you truly were conservative (I am), you would understand the ridiculousness of the mission. "American fascists" would never ever support George Bush, nor any other conservative, because fascism, by definition, is a violation of the very core beliefs of what makes one conservative (conservatism is about bringing the power closer to the people, less government, less moderation versus Fascism which empowers the government, and is for more intervention and control (socialism, and to a lesser extend, liberalism)

So if you are really offended by it, just laugh to yourself at the stupidity of the comments of the hackers that defaced the website. And if you are not, then I don't really see a reason to make a stink about it, as most conservatives, (at least, the more extreme) most likely realize how silly the mission really is d:

Just remember, the site is about righting what is wrong, enabling the free flow of information, and above all else, teaching you the basics of hacking

Just my 2 cents, and it probably made none (sense, that is) xP

I'm not trying to turn it into a political debate. I'm not even American (I just love America). I'm just saying; the homophobe and Nazi and other ones are all good because in them, you work against people that everyone agrees are ignorant. But that one mission sends out the message that Americans are evil, or something.

Oh, no, I understand (:

I think it's just that radicalism of any sort is bad. (Though infinite tolerance could be just as wrong?), and that information and speech, should be free, and everyone has the right to it.

Of course, it's possible that this wasn't the intent of the developers, and they they really wanted it to make Americans look evil, I really can't offer any opinion on that ^^ I can assure you that, I personally, am not evil though lol
