No, that'd be lame.

Yeah, I sat at my computer for 5000+ years waiting for it to crack...

</sarcasm>

It took Cain (on my junky computer) about 15 seconds to crack. JTR won't work, Cain will, it's NOT md4

It shouldn't. My account (and 10000's of others) work perfectly fine. Try making a new account.

Crystal_Bearer heres a suggestion, dont have a mac
no offense but the reason they are probably charging for the mac version is from what i understand its MUCH harder to code for a mac (well its became easier since mac made the switch to intel processors)
anyway, if you're really interested in hacking i would do what i set my friend up with
get ahold of a copy of boot camp and partition your drive (id say into 3 partitions)
next install your favorite form of linux on one partition (if you're not familure with linux id say go with ubuntu because it has from what ive seen the largest amount of GUI (graphical user interface) menues while still having full access to terminal (which to put it WAY oversimplified is like command prompt on steroids) and lastly i would throw a good old copy of windows on the last partition
honestly through the reasearch ive done you're just gona have a hard time with mac if you're trying to do anything either really technical or do something there are only a select few programs out there that you can do it with
even if you're using a mac for graphics its still smart to have more than one operating system

also, if you cant get ahold of boot camp you could try and get ahold of parallels, its a windows emulator for mac, but you still need a windows disk. now while i personally havent installed it on any friends machines, i know someone who has and she said that it actually worked very well for her (she said it was $15 at the time though, but with the emergence of boot camp im sure the price has dropped if not free)

personally i run vista (with programs to make old programs run like they're running on xp) and ubuntu on both of my machines (my laptop and my desktop) and i couldnt be happier, and honestly knowing that probably about 90% of my programs arent compatable with mac i would NEVER change to it

You could just emulate windows on you're mac and run JTR,it's called Parallels.
I'm sure there is a free one if you look hard enough :)

It's really not that hard to use it on mac :|
Download the latest source tarball, run make (I think you'll need make macosx-x86-sse2) then head to the run directory and you have an executable binary called john.
