IRC 7

Seeing as there are no threads for IRC mission 7 (or any IRC mission for that matter), I figured I may as well start one.

I am completely stumped. For the most part, I see that $encode and $decode has a history of being used in social networking attacks. I realize it uses base64 encryption, but beyond that, I've not been able to find any means of exploiting this to disconnect the bot.

It makes sense to have a help file of that particular client version available, and read what the command does.

I've been looking around and haven't been able to find any "official" help file information on encode or decode. The best I've found is unofficial ones describing that it uses base64 encryption and that it is disabled by default.

After completing it, I can say it is very similar to #6, but in a different way. The "mechanics" of the exploit are the same, but they're enacted differently. If you understand level 6, then you should understand what is needed for 7

I don't see any of these mission or learning as important. They don't even share the same terminology as in the real IRC commands. This is just a useless game.

No shit sherlock, not every bot made by people is going to have all the same commands, the point of this is to exploit the commands available from the bot (moo) to gain certain tasks (i.e. chan op privs)

How is learning how to exploit a completely alien bot useless? And how are we "eating shit" ..?

I'm glad that my first post is to be a helpful one. As was mentioned earlier, it helps to know what you're working with.
