Re: My network

XP 2000? lol

Anyways, grab a copy of DVL (Damn Vulnerable Linux). Although, if you are more interested in network hacking you should grab a copy of windows server. Learn about DNS and zone transferring.

Re: ARP poisoning

Alright, before you can truly understand ARP poisoning you must ask yourself "What is ARP?". ARP stands for Address Resolution Protocol. Just as it sounds, ARP is used to resolve an IP address to MAC address. ARP is a broadcast protocol, which means it sends a broadcast message to everyhos...

Re: What Would Be A Good MotherBoard ?

Since you don't sound like an expert, I suggest reading the reviews too. Generally (but not always) reviews can be very helpful.

If you find anything, post it here so we can check it out too. I have always had good luck with asus and MSI.

Re: Understanding Cryptography

Cryptography is actually a hard topic to learn about. Sure, you can learn the basics very easy, but once you begin putting together your own algorithms you realize how tough it is.

Start by brushing up on your mathematics, then read some books about it. Anything by Bruce Schiner is great.

Re: Math proof

Such easy proofs :)

Give us something a bit harder. im slightly disappointed that I didn't get the chance to respond to the previous challenges.

1$=100c=(10c)²=(0.1$)²=0.01$=1c

100c=(10sqrt(c))²

Re: Crash with inputs?

One thing to clear up, you cannot send more then one packet at a time. Ever heard of CSMA/CD? That stands for Carrier Sense Multiple Action with Collision Detection. If you were sending more than one packet at a time, they would collide. Thus, Ethernet standards use CSMA/CD to ensure collision detec...

Dual Programming forums?

I personally do not see the point of having two programming forums. Currently, there is one under the 'security' category, and another under the 'general'. In this case, most of the topics in the current 'security' category programming forum really belong in the 'general'. I understand the idea of t...

Re: Steganography FAQ/Mission Help

I don't know of any books which would really help you neophyte.

I'm sure you can surf around to find pretty much anything you want to know. I know hellboundhackers had a lot of beginner level stegano tutorials and challenges which you may find helpful.
