Re: Passing the hash

Insecure javascript implementations of hashing functions will allow you to replay the hash rather then cracking it. Sorry if this is a bit off topic but I figured it may spike your interest. Quite a few web development agencies use javascript hashing functions to prevent packet sniffers from grabbin...

Re: Am I ready?

From what it seems you are more-less on the web based side of things? Is this what you are into? I would suggest learning C, C++ and Java.

If you are into the RTB challenges you may want to learn a bit about shellcode and writing exploits.

Speaking of Poe, make sure to read 'The golden bug'.

Also, Applied Cryptography is a must read.

Re: Easier to learn with a book or search online?

First of all, it is really a personal preference. I personally find it easier to read a book then a pdf. I find it easier to use tutorials out of book then tutorials online.

You honestly have to try and see what is best for you.

Re: What do you want us to do?

What is the benefit behind that? I don't see where there would be any improvement.

Re: HTS has been taken over by demons or something?

Since I see this post straying off topic, I may as well add to it. I've seen some benchmarks between ubuntu and windows XP which were quite surprising. Windows XP was always on top heh.

So yeah, anyone who feels they can handle a different distro should do so, because ubuntu is not that powerful.

Re: Going into Networking as a career.

Learn the basics hehe. Check out the CompTIA Network+ certification exam objectives to get a feel for a decent learning structure. After you have the feel for it check out the CCNA exam.

So many resources and simulators out now it is easy enough to learn.

Re: Maths rocks

Yeah Sonic, we had a section in geometry about proofs. At first they are a bit tedious but they become useful soon after.
