Re: Place to post scripts and what not

+1. Also, maybe in conjuction with this idea or as it's own separate thing, I think it might be cool if certain parts of the forum were only accessible to members who had met certain participation requirements. I don't have any really fixed ideas about what the requirements would be like. Obv the si...

Re: Bitmessage Mailing List and/or Channel for HTS?

Just throwing it out there, the IRC supports SSL, so you do have that layer of encryption as well. Sure. After looking into it some, you prolly have a better idea where I'm coming from but just to make it clear to anyone else who stumbles across this thread, I'm def not trying to promote this as an...

Re: Bitmessage Mailing List and/or Channel for HTS?

Yeah, I think the appeal of bitmessage lies more in the ability to easily send encrypted 1:1 communications w/o having to manually manage certificates. The other advantage is that all related meta-data is also encrypted, so unless you are the sender or the recipient, there should be no way of seeing...

Bitmessage Mailing List and/or Channel for HTS?

Hey, Is anybody else on bitmessage ? I just started messing around w/ it this evening. Just to experiment a little, I created a Mailing List for HTS: BM-2DBNXeyhqcsYPDjYPv4X5kZ3DnG2uRz5bt And also a channel: hackthissite: BM-2DAmJiM4RpMdoU4cojtss9dTsA7DchLUT5 The pros of a mailing list are that they...

Re: Download Tor Bundle Bash Script

It's intersting as an exercise and although I don't think there's anything wrong with encouraging those starting out in Linux to get comfortable with the command line, you can download, extract and run the Tor browser without ever once opening a terminal window, assuming a modern desktop distro like...

Re: Ideas anyone?!

I wouldn't mind the option to choose alternate forum themes. :geek: If an overhaul was being considered, I'd also like to put in a vote for vbulletin. I guess this raises some questions about security since twoplustwo was hacked last year and then the ubuntu forums more recently, but perhaps that ju...

Re: My apologies for putting this topic in the wrong area

I think this is just a case where you need to use your imagination a little. Many of the missions don't actually require you -- or allow you -- to fully complete the hack. As long as you show the requisite knowledge to get the information needed to proceed, you have completed the mission. So in this...

Re: Bash wget login dictionary attack?

Nice. Having used wget in the past (usually for site-ripping), I thought your code looked about right but was wanting to test it out before commenting and never got around to it. As it looks like you discovered, the one thing you would want to know before attempting an attack is what verbiage is use...

Re: comment on basic missions and suggestion

My initial mental reaction to this was that there's not necessarily going to be one absolutely correct way of completing any particular mission. It seems at least partially true that if you solved the mission, the exact way in which you arrived at the solution shouldn't matter. You also have the opp...
