How exactly to join irc ?

since i have many questions about many stuff and it takes long for someone to reply in the forum,
can someone explain how exactly one man is suppose to join the irc chat ?

i have , and its difficult for people who haven't used irc to connect,
i saw a few tutorials and i cant understand how to connect to your server or network

What exactly have you tried? There's plenty of walkthroughs (on this site) to help you out.

and i see that i have to register for me to chat in your network,
and after that i have to connect using whatever i registered

first i guess i have to type these commands:

To register on the hackthissite irc server, enter the following commands:
/nick <username>
/msg nickserv register <password> <email>
/join #help
!link <hackthissite username>
Then, go to the link page and confirm the linking.
Every time you login, either enter the following commands, or review your irc client's documentation to learn how to make it automatically send them for you.

There's usually only one place to type in an IRC client, try typing there. For a more detailed set of instructions please let us know what IRC client you are using, as they all differ.

First, you have to connect to the network. Then, once you're connected, you can type those commands.

More specifics are required to better help you. What irc client are you using? What OS are you on?

Dude, I've never seen someone so helpless. (Not true, I do all the time)
Connect to irc.hackthissite.org. Then issue your nick/nickserv commands. Then join channels like #hackthissite.

Having issues connecting it keeps saying socket error (error101), also it will say looking up hostname then couldnt resolve and using ip instead, then in #help channel it just keeps saying disconnected over and over again, any help would be appreciatted
