Regarding CISPA, it feels like we've already gone over this thing. They won't really stop at anything to get this. Feels like we've already lost.

Shit like this makes me wanna get up and actually do something about it.

It should. Shit like this is very threatening to things that shouldn't be taken for granted. Unfortunately it looks like they won't stop, but we haven't lost unless we stop first.

That's exactly the kind of talk that takes away freedom in a country where freedom of speech is allowed. The system should work for the people, not against it!

Discuss!

Well written article, it seems you're the right person for the job. :D

And as such the fight over the Internet lights up again.

Indeed it should! It would be a shame to see people exhausted into complacency, but it gets hard to blame anyone for trying to avoid such a daunting power struggle.

Thanks :D That means a lot coming from you.

Heh, actually it doesn't mean all that much. I just wanted to give a compliment :P

While I'm here: any updates on the status of this thing?

"Invade the privacy of American families"?? Huh. Did he confuse "hackers" and "our government"?

I can only add that speech like State of union are common these days even in EU. Bills such as CISPA, CISA are threat to freedom of research and might seriously impact independent reasearch in computer security so it can cause more harm in the future. Also it undermines trust between customer and vendor company ... I can just imagine how these developments will fuel new anti TTIP campaigns across Europe :( This is sad ...
