Alert boxes in URL

So I've been reading up on JavaScript Injection, and I find the alert box section very interesting. I've been playing around with it and I was wondering, how do you put an alert box in a URL?

Like I want to be able to click on a link, and when I go to the site, my custom alert box pops up. Every time I add the alert box text with the URL the site doesn't show up though, I hope what I am trying to say makes sense. Thanks

Greetings,
you cant make alert boxes in the url, due to security reasons.
You can execute scripts though, putting this as the url in your address field:
javascript:alert("hello");
